Weekly Reviews: why and how?

Usually friday is the day when I do my weekly review, have time to take care of pending work stuff, etc…

However, not all weeks are the same and this one something came up that took the big part of my Friday.

The good news is: the issue I was working on was solved! The not so good news is that I didn’t take that time to reflect and plan.

Which brings me to the subject of this post: why I love (even need!) these times, and how things derail fast if I go some weeks without it.

As a remote worker, it’s easy to get to the end of the week feeling I didn’t accomplish much (or enough) – and that reflection time helps me realize that I did most that I thought I did. Plus, there’s something about starting a week with a clear idea of what we aim to do – isn’t there?

So, just for clarity, in case you tend to feel that way, here’s the process I follow for weekly reviews . I use the Bullet Journal for this ( and to plan most things really) and there are many many examples online, but this is the one I found works for me:

Then looking ate the next week, at the calendar, and all.pending things:

This is usually the main part, and currently it’s enough for me. It definitely changes from person to person and, even for me personally, it can change from a month to another, depending on projects, challenges, seasons, etc..

When doing this I tend to use both last week’s weekly spread / review, all my dailies to find pending tasks, etc…, and my monthly to dos, to see what i could being to this week.

How about you? Do you take time to review your week? How does your process look like??
