This is a really small aside ode on Bullet Journalling.
My days are a mess, let’s be honest.. I do many things, routines often fall off and I can go days or weeks falling off the productivity wagon until I come back on.
Its not rhat i dont get things done- I do! I just might not prioritize as much or keep track of things the same way. This leads to days or weeks where I feel Ive been hustling but didn’t accomplish much. On these weeks, the weekly reviews come to the rescue!
But whenever possible I prefer not to have anything to rescue and, instead, just be on top of all the things everyday. I often find that 20min organizing my day in the morning get me a full day of better and focused work and often I get to the end of my work day feeling loads has been done. This is such an amazing feeling – why isn’t it constant ?
As a developer, some days are spent on rabbit holes, its hard to feel productive then, at least til the very end of it. Other times we’re just doing what I refer to personally as admin work: planning, writing about my analysis and learnings etc… Other times I am just doing work that comes with being part of a company – which I love – like trainings , chats with people, meetings, feedback stuff, etc.. Its not always easy to measure efficiency or effectiveness for those tasks.
However I know that if I start on my Bullet Journal every day, I get a way better feeling of my day, I plan appropeiately and donf try to cram as much as posisble in a day , etc.. This helps!
But circling back to the beginning: the thing I love the most about Bullet Journalling is that all is well if I dont do it for a week or if in a day I have TONS to write. It also helps a LOT to have these scattered thoughts when reviewing, seeing what I struggled on, etc..
So yeah, that’s it ! I know BuJo isnt for everyone, and that’s the amazing part of being a human, right?
